Our research domains include behavioral neuroscience, developmental neuroscience, and psychoneuroimmunology. Using rodent models, we investigate how developmental insults (e.g., alcohol exposure) cause dysfunction of innate immune systems and detrimentally impact hippocampal circuitry and learning and memory-related behaviors throughout the lifespan. By examining the impact of early-life stressors on developing neurocircuitry, we aim to uncover how these intersecting biological systems influence cognitive and behavioral disruptions.
